breeding them is easier than catching them laying on time ,for me I put them in separate cages when they start laying ,keep them there for few weeks or longer ,I ve got so many I will have no chance to catch them all laying

Out of curiosity are you lighting these pullets or are the coming into lay with only natural sunlight? I’m lighting my mixed flock but not my Bresse. My Bresse aren’t laying yet and I’m considering lighting them up in hopes that I can start setting eggs in February. Or further north than I am so your days are a bit shorter than mine.

Lights have been typically coming on at 8am. 3 days ago I reset to 7:00 and immediately started getting new eggs but I really don't think that triggered them.
