Our White Crested Black Polish acted completely like a cockerel and would even chase off our GL Polish cockerel sometimes if he got close to the hens or pullets.
But I guess even pullets can act like cockerels sometimes..
It started squatting when I went to pick it up and I know only females do that.

At least I don't have to worry about people telling me to get rid of one of them now! A bit sad though because I've been wanting 2 cockerels for so long and thought my chance was here.

I feel really stupid about mis-gendering the chicken though and hate myself even more. That's probably why I was bullied a lot as a kid.. because I'm stupid.

You are not stupid at all. Don't tell yourself that, it only makes you feel bad. Polish can be harder to sex than other breeds. I wouldn't know a male polish from a female. Same with Silkies. I'm chicken-racist, because polish and silkies all look alike to me (within their respective groups),

We sexed our GL Polish at 7 weeks as he had a big comb and his tail feathers were cockerel-like.
