i have plymouth rock chickens and i have an incubator that my mum bought me in november late october. i hatched the first lot out and advertised them and lots of people wanted them but they all wanted pullets. so i was wondering if there was anyway of telling the sex by looking at the egg or wht temperature i should set it to get pullets instead of roosters.

It would be great if there was some magic way to tell gender in young chicks but there isn't. You might try posting in that breed forum, where people have raised them for years and may offer better advice.

Unfortunately there is no way to predetermine the chick's sex. There are myths about egg shapes having an effect (longer eggs = roosters and fatter eggs = hens), but that is not true! Lower and higher incubation temperatures doesn't work with chickens, unfortunately, it only works with crocodiles as far as I know.
