wry neck

Hey guys, I have a chick with wry neck, and I gave him some booster rooster and some electrolytes', but he keeps flopping his head back when he lays down and then he falls on his back what should I do? keep giving him that stuff???????????

How old is he? Do you have any pictures? Wry neck can happen with either vitamin E or B1 thiamine deficiency. So I would give him some of each. Rooster Booster brand Poultry Cell liquid has some of each. For an older chick, I would get human vitamin E softgels and give the contents of 1 daily, along with 1/4 tablet of human super b complex daily. A bit of egg yolk or scrambled egg daily serves to give some selenium which helps the vitamin E.

It is best to just update your original thread with pictures and updates. Has he ever been able to stand? You might want to place his in a chick sling or sock, or even a small padded cup to get him upright. Dip his beak into water and food. A small amount of moistened chick feed would be good.

He can stand and he drinks when I put his beak to the water I will keep you posted

good news the chick is way more active and can lay down without his head flopping over still goanna give them stuff!!!!!!!!!!!
