I have a polish who I found on the ground this morning and she can't stand and when she would try to hold her neck up she would lost all balance. She will eventually get control again just to sit and hold her head sideways. I am giving her egg yolks and b12 drops and put her in a small cage . Does anyone have any suggestions and how long should I try to help her before it is pointless . I hate this happened to her she's so sweet I will sure miss her if she don't pull thru!

thank u so much this is great info

there are two forms of selenium > the selenite/selenate (inorganic forms) has been found in research studies to be unsuitable.
Look for the combo vitE/selenium gel tabs (walmart and kmart usually carry a very afforable brand) > this has the correct form > just make sure that the amount of selenium per tab does not exceed 50 MICROgrams (this is the usual dosage but there are some out there that have one hundred)
P ri ck open and squeeze out the contents to give in beak.

:idunnowell I think it's too late for my polish she can't hold her head up at all today and she seems to be unattentive to anything I do she's given up just gasping and rolling eyes so at this point I can't watch it . I an gonna let her go ! I have another polish that is sick too all the rain we have had she too is gasping today I have to get her well I think I can save her. I don't think polish are very strong birds . Thank u all for helping I appriciate it.

Is their coop not dry? Check out the puddles and such > stagnant water can harbor botulism and damp bedding/grains/feed can harbor mycotoxins.
Make sure all is dry where they are housed and be vigilant in a rainy period against damp bedding and moldy forgotten grains or feed. It can go off very quickly.
