Was planning to wait until summer to get the egg production going. Figured with my CSA starting soon, that I'd have too much to do, but I'm distracted by this website and I can't focus on the garden! So I'm modifying my egg plans....
I'm looking to get a couple of ready to lays to get a quick fix and satisfy my chicken addiction and then I'll also order a couple of chicks so that by the time they mature, I'll be in full chicken mode! We have temporary housing for a couple of birds and by the time the chicks are mature, I'll have a real coop. Can you believe I've asked my family members for sweat labor for my birthday in May. Guess who's all coming to build my coop! Weird, I know. I've spent way too much time on this board. Thanks for all the on-line advice and all.
