Hi! We were given a simple incubator from a friend who has used it many times and had successful hatches (but has since gotten out of keeping chickens for other pursuits).

Got it clean & are checking/regulating the temperature today. We would like to try to get some fertile eggs to hatch, are mostly interested in purebred eggs but would be happy with a mixture. Would like to work up to Black copper marans or take offcolor eggs b/c I don't want to spend too much on our first trial hatch. Other breeds we'd especially like to try (but are open to any suggestions) are:

Standard sized Buff Brahmas
Delaware
White face Black Spanish
Blue laying EE / Ameraucanas
Black Jersey Giants
Silkies (but do they have more trouble hatching?)
Other marans

Other standard sized birds welcome-we are interested in many breeds, but those are ones we especially liked. One day we'd like to have just a few breeds and want to pick our favorites after raising different kinds, that is why I'm trying to stick to breeds & not mixes at this time.

If you have some purebred eggs, even a mixture of breeds in the clutch or smaller number to offer, please post! Thank you.

I have EE have can send 10+ friday $20 shipped u will get one dozen. They lay blue/green eggs

I have 6-12+ EE I can sell you for $1 an egg plus shipping.

Everyone is different and not your normal brown EE. The red hen is 1/2 ee, and I can send her eggs too if you'd like. they would be 3/4 EE, 1/4 RIR.

My latest chick. One of the Most adorable chicks I've seen. Love my EE's. Lay only very pretty pastel eggs. Are friendly friendly pets.

PM if your interested. I also have Light Brahma, RIR, Buff Orp, and White Crested Polish mixes.

PMs replied!

Your chickens are lovely, Kindercorner! What a beautiful chick. I found out this afternoon that there is someone local selling EEers, so I may try to fill up my hatcher with other things if I can first, since I have those readily available. THanks for your reply and the pictures!

haha alright. If you still want some anytime, just let me know.

I bought Heritage Delaware eggs from Shortcake1806, but SeriousBill has them, too.

I bought Marans eggs from bishopschickens before. So, they may have some available.

To answer your question about Silkies. I only ever hatched my own Silkie eggs and they had no trouble hatching. I never had to help them out of their shell and fertility was always great. I'm no longer selling my own eggs so I'm not trolling for a sale, but I don't think Silkies are fragile at all. I think they're a very hardy little breed and a wonderful addition to a flock.
