Anyway I can see some pictures of your birds? I am extemely interested. Are RIR's the only quality birds you guys breed? I am looking for foot BR stock as well.

You can see some pictures of our poultry on our webshots site. Lots of photos on our Poultry page. Don't have any BR, hubby has a few hens but we cross them with the RIR for black stars sex links, great layers too!

One of the things that I struggled with when I first began looking for some good reds was what I should call them. I knew that if I posted that I wanted Rhode Island Reds on this site I would get every production producer trying to sell eggs for a few dollars a dozen. I think I finally settled for exhibition Rhode Island Reds. What is the preferred term to best describe that you are looking for non production Reds from notable breeders??

I would ask for Heritage those should be the old dark red variety you are looking for, but some would call them exhibition birds also. Mine are Heritage cause we can trace our bloodline back over 50 years. Bloodline that George Ryan and his family raised and shown here in Arkansas. The Ryan's have won many ribbons with them and there is still a special award given in their name for poultry at the Arkansas State Fair.
