I have seen the "Orientals" from ideal, they are ok birds but may not fit the true standard of the actual Orientals. We bought some "dark asils" to fill up our egg layer order from them a couple years ago, culled 2 of the 3 cockerels due to unthriftyness, the third was culled due to the fact he liked attacking my 4 year old. People attacking birds are not tolerated and true orientals should not have this trait. If you are looking for the real thing, then shamoman is a great place to start. Zook and Roberts have some excellent stock as well. We have shamos and aseels in the brooders now, they can be a little fiesty at times, but are a joy to raise. I would advise doing some research first and talking to a few breeders to make sure you understand the needs of these breeds. They are not barnyard chickens and do take a little extra care if it gets cold where you live.
