I have 3 Silkie pullets who will be ready to start laying any day now and need a rooster to go with them. The hens are 2 white and 1 red, but I am breeding for pets only so they don't have to all be the same color. I live in Southeast Alabama, near Dothan, and would drive a short distance to get a nice Silkie roo. I don't want a really old one or very aggressive one. I also have 7 white Silkie chicks, but they are only a couple of weeks old so it will be a while before I find out what they are.
I have a black frizzled Cochin roo that is about 3 months old and just starting to have the cutest little squeaky crow. If anyone is interested in a frizzled roo and wants to trade, that would be great. If not, I am willing to buy a Silkie rooster from anyone in my area who has one. The frizzle is sweet, but I have a smooth Cochin rooster that I am really attached to and had to choose only 1 of them to keep. If we lived in the country where we could have as many crowing roosters as we want, I would keep him for myself. I plan to take him to the local auction soon because I need to re-home him.
