WTH are these??!!

Thank you! I'll get that as soon as I can, but do you know if albendazole works too?? It's all I have right now at home and I wanna treat this couple of babies as soon as possible because they're already weak with fowl pox
Follow the information that @dawg53 (an Educator) has given you below (Post#6). The tapeworms will weaken them more.

No, don't use the Albendazole for Tapeworms.
Purchase either Equimax horse paste or Zimecterin Gold horse paste at a feed store. Both products contain Praziquantel and both will eliminate tapeworms pronto.
Dosage for Equimax horse paste is 0.16ml given orally to a 5lb chicken.
Zimecterin Gold horse paste dosage is 0.3ml given orally to a 5lb chicken.

I've dealt with tapeworms. It's best to deworm tapeworm infected birds early in the morning prior to feeding them. The worms will be at their weakest and the wormer will be more effective eliminating the tapeworms. After dosing, wait at least 3 hours before feeding your birds. This will give time for the wormer to kill the tapeworms. You may even see the tapeworm and or sections of tapeworm excreted in feces.
Insects are the host for tapeworms.

You say your birds are chicks. You need to calculate the dose based on body weight. For that reason you should administer a paste orally, especially since you say these birds are weak. I can't give you the dosages. Please stand by, I will tag an Educator to help you.

I've dealt with worms in birds over the years. Use the search box and see. Albendazole and Fenbendazole will not get rid of poultry tapeworms. However, they are effective for all types of roundworms.
Praziquantel in horse pastes will get rid of tapeworms in the first dosing.
Ivermectin has lost its effectiveness in treating roundworms due to its overuse as a miticide in poultry. It will still treat mites though.

Tapeworms are best teated with praziquantel, the drug in Equimax or Zimectrin Gold, and in Droncit or Drontal tapeworm tablets. Be sure to look around for any earthworms, flies, beetles, grasshoppers, or other insects that may be an intermediate host of tapeworm eggs. Also keep droppings cleaned up as best you can. Insects and worms will eat tapeworm eggs, and when the chicken eats those, they can get reinfected with tapeworms again and again.

Such good information here! Very helpful; thank you!

I have searched for a topic and not found what I was looking for because I usually check the box "Search titles only." Of course, if someone doesn't know what they have, it won't be in the title. 🤦‍♀️ Duh, Sally.

How to treat tapeworm.

I'm putting that in this post so that if someone is searching for that specific information, this thread will show up in their search, because it could be exactly what they need to find.

Thanks everyone! I'll do that then, should I treat the whole flock just in case?

They're free range and autumn is just starting over here, so there's still lots of those everywhere. Also I've been digging lots of white grubs for them. Do you know if a quick boil will get rid of tapeworms in the grubs? If not, I'll have to stop but they love them so much 😢
