Hi, my name is Brandon and we live in The Mountain State. I've been a home brewer for a decade (hence my screen name) and love the idea as local as possible, the backyard doesn't get much more local. We had been wanting to get into chickens for some time. Last April I was at big box tractor mart (TSC) and jumped feet first. I bought three RIR and three production reds and the warming lamp. We kept them in our upstairs bathroom until the temperature was warm, the coop was finished and the birds were pullets. We love our birds and they are great pets, our two kids love them and love going down to the coop to find out what the girls did that day. I've been using BYC for about three years preparing for the inevitable leap and you folks have been an invaluable resource. It's time to start contributing to the community and getting some of our questions answered.

Glad you joined us! My husband is a very enthusiastic newbie brewer. He's getting better at it, but my word, those first few attempts...
