I thought the only authorized testers were the guys from southern wv?

I have a friend who is a tester in MD, and I've considered going thru one of their courses just to be able to monitor my own flock health. It would be even nicer if WV would adapt a similar scheme to Md so more testers could become available.


If I don't need to be NPIP, then what needs to be tested onsite: chicks, hatching eggs, or only adults?


Are the onsite tests just a disease test, meaning I won't get an NPIP number, or does that start the process?

Birds above the age of 3 months, I believe, will be tested for pollorum-typhoid. ...no Avian Influenza if you are instate. The P/T test shows results on the spot so, we can test and sell right then.

In order to become NPIP, you must contact the state VET.

I just got my order in for 10 BLRW pullets to go with my 3 roos. I will be selling 1 roo as a pair or trio at the sale. Keep in mind the pullets will be chicks 3-6 wks depends of time of sale on age and the roo will be 1 yr in 1st of Feb. If anyone would want them like that. If not I might keep them till next spring sale or at fall sale.
I have pics of roo. I 'm not sure if I will be giving up any more pullets or not . I might know by the sale . I Should have Lav/Split blk.Orps then too. I also will try hatching out some more EE's for sale too. By then she will be with the Lav Orp roo. By next year I'll have a pile of Marans,Exchequer Leghorns (if I part with any) EE's (2 hens) 1 green eggs 1 blue eggs , Lav Orps and BLRW.

I will have to sell some to make up cost of feed!

So don't worry Peachick I won't take over your breeds.

Just kidding. Tammy has put in way more on the orps then I most likely will. So she has that breed hands down!

I hope to have Blue CM, Blue Wheaton Marans,Wheaton marans,CM, Blue , Splash,and maybe blk Marans. Tammy by June there will be 60 CR roasters,30 red,blk,wht broilers,13 BLRW, 2 EES,2 Mutts,2 Cm, 6 WM, and the others I can't list do to getting more.

Tammy how are the little ones from Sandy? Did you find the one beats on the box like a drummer? Boy was that one loud on the ride back to you. It was Blk or dark blue. 1 splash has the stink eye down too.
