I have five, four day old chicks. When I picked them up at 3 days old one had a pasty butt and a large portion of yolk still on his bottom with some blood. I got him home yesterday and cleaned him up but he's been getting more lethargic since. No idea how long he was pasty but he was very swollen. I don't have him isolated so I haven't been able to observe a poop from him but I have cleaned some white and yellowish thin stuff off him twice since. It blocked his vent both times. His crop was hard last night so I massaged it, this am it was still very full so I gave some olive oil and massaged again. It's not gone down at all in the past few hours despite that he hasn't eaten. I saw one little drink yesterday and he was following around yesterday but not reacting the same as the others. He's ignoring all the other chicks and standing alone, chirping softly with his eyes closed. He keeps falling backwards. He is smaller than the other chicks who are growing already. Is there any hope for him or should I put him down?
