Wyandotte or Brahma?

i ended up with 2 br hens, 1 dom hen, and 2 dom roos that were supposed to be silver laced wyandottes :(

I appreciate the replies. We were hoping for Silver Laced Wyandotte since that what we thought we bought... but I wouldn't give 'em up for anything! We think they are beautiful and we do love 'em.

They look EXACTLY like my Light Brahma trio. Except the feathered feet, the coloring is exactly the same-to the feather!

Colour and patterning of feathers is not unique to any particular breed. Almost all breeds come in multiple varieties, and I cannot think of a single variety that is not present in multiple breeds.

Yeah, I bought 3 silver laced wyndotts at the farm store this spring, just a couple of days old pullets. They certainly are not silver laced wyndotts, not sure what they are but they are so sweet. I wouldn't trade them either. Yours looks like my brahama too. Love them as wellThey are really sweet.

Hello!

I know this thread is about Wyandottes or Brahma but so many of us in other breeds are working with the Columbian Pattern and have things that you can share and have questions that deal strictly with the Columbian Pattern. I am opening a new thread and hope that those who raise Columbian patterned birds will join in and help everyone learn from their experiences.

The thread will be called "
“Building and Working With the Columbian Patterned Birds".

Hope to see some of you there.

Rob
