My 16 week old Wyandotte pullet got a comb injury when a coyote stalked their coop yesterday morning. The pullets all went crazy and somehow she got injured. I was considering separating her from the rest but since she is 'top dog'(I have more experience with dogs) I just watched her and no one bothered her so I cleaned the area and applied antiseptic and some no peck stuff. She is doing great but I am not sure if I should cut off the small piece of comb that is hanging.

My wyandotte injured her comb trying I think now to get under a fence, several months ago. She has that little rear end of the comb sticking straight up (!) and I debated clipping it but eventually left it and now that is how I tell her from the other wyandottes (and she is the naughty one!).

Best wishes for her healing up! I cleaned mine's off and neosporin and she was fine in a couple of days.
