I forgot to add that you guys rock! Thanks so much for helping me ID my new girl. I will be making a separate post shortly about my mystery chick, hopefully you guys can help ID her as well.

Take Care,
Brittany

Hello, I know this is an old thread but I have the same question. I got gold and silver laced Wyandottes about two weeks ago. They were a month old when purchased. They have the fluffiest, furriest feet. It is very thick gray and black feathers growing out of their feet. I thought they had just not lost their baby fluff but we are about 6-7 weeks old now and still, they are there. Ideas of different breeds? Feel free to sex them while you are at it, because if they are not all Wyandottes, they may also not all be pullets! Help. Thanks.

Looks like mixed breeds.
Are those single combs? Feathered feet and single combs don't point to wyandottes. Single combs doesn't even point to wyandotte crosses.
Was thinking maybe cochins but cochins have powder puff tails that those don't.
IDK my guess is cochin crosses.

The zip ties around their necks can be very dangerous if they get caught on something.

Yes, I agree. We realized also being pretty and shiny makes them peck each others. These chicks just got moved outside from our bathtub a couple days ago. I am going to be moving those tags to their feet/legs. I was waiting for their feathers to fall off but now I know there is no need to wait. I check them each day and can get a finger in each. But I plan to cut them off and do a poultry leg band thing on their feet with the tags.
