Hello from central Nebraska! I am a new flock owner and have 7 birds, all named after MMA fighters! I did a lot of research on cold hardy birds and ended up with Wyandottes. They're beautiful, friendly, and have been great layers. I find chickens very calming and I love fresh eggs. My husband and I are empty nesters and love to camp. When I'm not chicken farming, I love running, antiques, plants (so. many. plants.), archery, and anything outdoors.

I've been loving raising backyard chickens but it has been challenging for me. I love a good challenge though! My Labrador, whom I call Labradorous Rex (Abby), has been very gentle with my girls and even helps me herd them in their run.

I've been reading a lot about chickens lately, and maybe like a lot of people, came here seeking help because there are SO many things on the internet, not all of them are conflicting, but some things I'm curious about and I figured it was time to join a group :)
