Hi I'm wanting to breed golden laced wyandottes and silver laced wyandottes, but i would like for them to be show quality. I'm not sure where to start, i have looked just about every where on the internet, there doesn't seem to be any breeder for the golden laced wyandottes. So could hatchery chicks eventually be show quality ? And does any one know anything about showing chickens ? And can you tell if your baby chick will be show quailty?
I have about 10 golden laced age, about 3 months old and 4 silver laced same age.Thank you. Also I'm a new member so i hope i did this right.

Hi and welcome to BYC - I'd suggest by typing the breed of each bird and "SOP" in the search box and seeing what comes up - hopefully you will get an idea of what a show quality chicken will look like.

Best wishes

I think if you post on the breed thread it will introduce you to breeders of show quality stock. Believe me if you start with hatchery birds you will have many years before you achieve
any measure of success. If you start out with the best you can afford from a respected breeder- I'm sure they would guide you through your early attempts while you absorb all the advice and information available to you.

thank you guys i appreciate it and will go look at the breed thread
