For all those who went to the Fremont County Fair and walked by or visited the Petting ZOO...
Stolen Therapy Chickens (Rare breeds)!
Can't believe it...Chickens that hatched at our Nursing Home in Riverton Wyoming had a petting zoo/booth at the Agri Center at the Fremont County fair and today while I got ready to clean up they were gone....not in the building which was locked up and not in their pen which was also closed....
These Chickens were hatched at the Nursing home for therapeutical reasons....many of our residents come from farms and ranches and won't have much interaction with animals at the nursing home due to Federal, State and Corporate regulations.
Many of our residents are at the nursing home for therapy or actually most of them it's their last resort.
So having this activity and the residents having their own (all 19 chickens are named by the residents) chickens is very helpful in many ways, the booth/petting zoo was a way to thank the entities that helped us out having this great activity but also to show the community what something special like a chicken can do....
After talking to the fairs administration we found out that this (sunday) morning out of the 7 chickens just 4 were in the agri center so 3 were taken Saturday evening...I left the fair around 6 pm and all 7 were in the pen...My questions is that if someone witnessed anybody walking out the building with a chicken in their arms to contact Pat or Barney at the fairs office or contact Feike or Noelle at 335-4102 or 856-9471
I would like to ask anybody to also look around and see if anyone notices that someone "by accident" has new chickens on their property or in their pens to ask a question what breeds they are.....
I am pretty sure that I am the only one in Fremont County that has: French Black Copper Marans, Wheaten and Lavender Ameraucana's.
It is very insensitive and disrespectful to steal from the elders that are looking forward every day to spend time with something that reminices them about HOME....
Please return the chickens because the Elders are missing them!
