Y’all... is this a cockerel too??

Attacking kids is a one time offense. No need to wait for a second attack and possible serious injury. Cockerels/roosters frequently go for the face and eyes.
Agreed! I told him he couldn’t go back in there til we do something with all the cockerels. The buff colored one I originally posted about is so sweet though. He’ll just sit there and let him pet him and he’s always carried him around like he does some of our hens, main reason I thought it was a hen. He doesn’t ever even try to be bossy like all the others, never even ruffles his feathers.

I completely agree with @sourland and @KikiLeigh02 about this. On strike, in the freezer you go. And I won't dump those types of issues on somebody else, with our w/out fair warning.

Yeah there’s a guy that works with my dad that may take some of them. Most of his Roos free range and he’s ok with an aggressive rooster. He said he has a bigger rooster that’ll put him in his place if not he has a processing business and he’ll eat him. But that little thing is gonna need to grow some more before somebody eats him. Lol!! I asked my mom to call his wife today and see if she wants any of them, hopefully she’ll take some of them and I won’t have so many to worry about.

I'm ever so sorry. :hmm If it makes you feel any better, a group of straight run Easter Eggers I raised last year ended up extremely lopsided....10 cockerels and 2 pullets. We've all been in the same boat.

Have y’all ever heard that if you hatch the rounder eggs they’re hens the longer, narrower eggs will be roosters... I don’t really plan on hatching chicks but this lady that used to raise chickens told me that... it’s probably an old wives tale but I’d like to know if there’s any truth to it.

Not true, sooooo four roosters out of five eggs not true.:lau

There is a thread on here somewhere where they've been experimenting with that theory. I can't remember how it's titled though. I don't think anyone has proved it to be true yet...
