I dont know much about them. I worked with a vet clinic that had a client with one. It turned out her yak was a Highlander cow/cattle. My hubby wanted one in the worst way and found this breeder (here in Wisconsin):

Hope this helps! btw my hubby did contact them for basic into and said the owners were very nice and found out that yaks need at least an acre of land. Thank goodness we only have 3/4 of an acre or I'd be owing a yak!!

They haven't been on BYC for a couple months, but they are professional yak ranchers. And very nice folks!

Contratulations.... I'm totally jealous! I want a small herd of Yak too, but I don't have fencing up........yet!

We have a herd of Yaks. Also have some adult cows for sale that should be bred to our Royal bulls.

Not sure what we will have for yak coming to our animal auction in Feb at Platte, SD. Also there will be trailers coming to our sale from WA & MT so possible transport can be arranged.
