Last week I picked up 3 Golden sex-links and 3 Black Australorpes. DH wasn't exactly jumping up and down for joy when he got home from work. After he got over his initial shock, I dropped the other shoe on him yesterday. I let him know that I was going to pick up an additional 2 (or 3

We have 6 hens laying right now and I just got 6 new chicks this past Friday from TSC. DH told the folks at TSC that we'd probably be back 3 times a week until they stop getting chickens in. Which is in like 2 weeks, so it's not that long! Apparently our store starts chick days later than others and stops sooner.

On Saturday DH says "I've been wondering something....how many chickens do you think we're going to end up with?" Me:"Um, I don't really know." DH "Like 100? Because I don't think I really want hundreds of chickens." Me:"Well, I don't think I want hundreds either. I wouldn't be able to keep up with that many names!" DH:"I think you're underestimating yourself on that one."

It always makes me smile when he talks about our chickens with a somewhat defeated expression and tone, but he always says that he's just happy that I'm so easy to please. I don't want too much from life, my veggie garden and chickens are about all I need.

Hahaha! Mine has been giving me that same defeated reaction but he's reluctantly warming up to them. Resistance is futile!

I figure that since he's making them such an enormous coop/run..why not add more?

LOL! Where in Texas are you? As I was reading your signature and the list of pets you have, I thought at first you were my friend from up the street! She's got quite the collection, too. And she joined BYC today.
