In the Brooder
Hello, folks!
I have been lurking on BackYard Chickens for a while, learning and researching, and am very excited that my partner and I will finally be starting our flock in April! I have experience with chickens, (a former landlord had chickens, I used to house-sit regularly for chickens, and I worked on a vegetable farm with 200 layers for a while..) but these will be the first birdies in our big garden in western Kentucky, AND our first experience with chicks!
We've ordered 6 chicks from Murray McMurray, arriving in mid-april: Barred Rock, Austrolorp, Ameracauna, Silver-laced Wyandotte, a Whiting's True Green, (a last-minute choice..) and a Partridge Cochin. I'm excited about this adventure!
