Very exciting, found our first egg today. They have been doing the egg laying song for a couple of weeks now.
We suspect that it was one of our 20 week old Australorps we call Esme.
Question...We medicated the chooks with an oral dose of Ivermectin to treat lice. We treated them twice a week apart to ensure we got lice eggs too. How long should we leave it before eating the lovely fresh eggs, and, can we feed the eggs to the dogs in the mean time?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I , personally, recook all eggs and give back to the birds...two weeks after the last does is when you can start to eat them yourselves....
