So I am finished with my home-made incubator, it's ready for the eggs a fellow BYCer will be shipping me this week. Thank you Deek for helping me get the thermostat to work. I also used an turn for an old butter turn to make my egg turner, and it works perfect! I'm soo eggcited! Oh, and yes I will be covering the water with mesh, lol.

Kewlll!!!! I wish some of our eggs could be in it!!!! They would like a maiden birthing!!!!

Well, if only we were closer, I'd trade for such a really cool incubator....Please pm me your dimensions ....It looks perfect!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everybody! I'm going to have to get a another thermometer, because the one I have says the thermostat is keeping it at 86 degrees, so I need to have another to confirm what the first is saying. Also I think I need to up my bulb wattage from 60W to maybe 75W, so after opening the bator, the temp will get back up faster.

Wow good job! Do you have a fan in there? Does the temp differ much between the eggs closer to the bulb and the eggs in the back? I am planning to try a homemade bator this spring, and I have been wondering about the placement of the heat source/light bulb.

DARNNNN you people are smart, i'm glad i joined this site...gettin all kinds of ideas...already made a maggot feeder and now gonna mk a bator out of the lil cubes that i got a few yrs back from Target i made a really big one yrs ago but i can see that yours will work just fine and not cost a fortune that I DONOT HAVE....i hv a light bulb....good ,good job!!!yippie this is fun!!!!

NICE JOB !!!

It appears that you have plenty of room for a "used" computer fan to circulate the air. You MIGHT consider installing one....the "concensus" seems to be that you will get a better hatch rate.
