YAY! Pullet started laying!

I've been on egg shortage for weeks! Now one of my two pullets that are of laying age just started! One is a white leghorn and the other is a silver laced wyandotte. Not sure who layed the egg though... It looks exactally like a silkie egg. Just slightly tined. I thought the wyandotte would lay brown eggs? Else my leghorn is laying some really tinted eggs!

Congrats! Ours laid their first egg on the 4th and another today! The kids are thrilled!

WAAAAAHHH! My girls are not laying yet. They will be 18 weeks this coming Sunday. I so can't wait!

Mine will be 17 weeks Saturday.....I cant waite...no...I CAN waite...I dont even have the nest boxes in there yet! LOL I guess I better get it going!

mine are only 10 weeks i guess i have ages to wait! They are production birds though so hopefull they will lay nice and soon!

Mine will be 18 weeks this coming Monday and I've been checking the nesting boxes twice a day - yes, pathetic I know. My husband comes home from work every day asking, "Any eggs yet?" I've told him that it will probably be the end of July or beginning of August, yet we both hope for just one egg every day. PATHETIC!!!

My big girl laid her first egg today!!! My daughter found it in some mulch...thank goodness she did or we never would have known. We were cheering and all so excited that we called all our friends! They were just as excited as us (all city dwellers). Tweety's face did seem particularly red yesterday, but since I am new to chicken raising, I didn't know that could be a sign of an egg on its way. We weren't expecting eggs yet since the store told us she was 1 week when we got her, so that means she would be 15 weeks today (seems very doubtful to me). I thought it would be small, but the egg is actually normal size. I am just SOOOO proud of her!

I had no idea that having chickens around would be so rewarding, fun, and entertaining all at the same time.
