Our sole Ameraucana hen took the winter off from laying. She is a loner, and a strange bird, and we have always considered her our "artistic" hen who lays the beautiful eggs and has unique ways. So, of course she would be the only one to demand the winter off for a sabbatical. Well just this week she has decided it is time to begin laying again. Of course, she has shunned the nesting boxes and found a special spot all to herself in the coop, but she is consistent, so that's okay!
