Yellow chicks in front of post

Can someone please explain to me why the yellow chicks are in front of some posts and not others I have been looking for answer and cant find it One of my posts does not have a yellow chick in front of it and I am wondering why

If the yellow chick is there it means you have not looked at that post since the last time a new post was added. so now this post should have a yellow chick for you, once you read it the chick goes away.
