Ladybird is a PR, about 3 yrs old. She is having, pale yellow, slightly foamy poo. She is mostly standing in place, not eating or drinking without being forced. Her crop feels empty, I feel nothing hard like an egg in her abdomen but it feels pretty firm and plump, even bloated toward the back of her belly. Her tail is up and she isn't pushing like trying to lay. I don't know for sure if she is laying at all. Been giving her ACV water by dipping her beak and she ate a few bits of bread this morning other wise refusing anything. I went to the poo page and really didn't see what I'm seeing. I've never wormed my chickens. Thank you for any information and help. Magpie

She could be suffering from internal laying, egg yolk peritonitis, or ascites (fluid in the belly.) Those can be all connected, too. But first I would worm your flock with something like Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer. Pale yellow stools can be a sign of E.coli, and foamy poos can be from worms. Or you can take a sample of her droppings into your vet's office to test for parasites. Here is some info on the above:

Sounds like it could be coccidiosis!

When we first got our girls one was constantly doing foamy yellow poos, but I didn't know anything about it at the time so just left it. A few weeks later she went off her food, became very lethargic and stationary. I scooped a sample of her poo into a pot and took it to the vet. He said it was riddled with coccidiosis parasite.

The treatment is very simple and easy. I can't remember what it's called but they gave us a little bottle without even having to take her in, as he was so sure from the dropping it was coccidiosis. You just add a couple of drops to the water for a couple of days - the improvement was immediate! The next day she had picked up hugely and was back eating. Poor girl must have been very poorly as a few weeks later she had really put on weight and her comb started growing!

I'm no expert, but I'd definitely recommend getting a test for this. Especially as it so cheap and easy, with no stress to the bird!

We treat them for this every 3-6 months now, as recommended by the vet. I just add it in when I worm them.

Good luck :)
