We have a yellow jacket's nest we apparently need to deal with. One of the girls got stuck by it and got stung, we don't know how many times, but she was covered with them at one point. Anyone know if this is something we should attend to?

She's going to hurt like heck for a while, but I'm not sure there's much you can do for her. If she was a person or a dog I'd give her some Benedryl and then ice the bites.

My son was stung on the finger by a wasp last week and his whole hand swelled up and stayed that way for three days. Day 2 was the worst, so I'd expect the same in your hen. According the www.MayoClinic.com, ice will prevent some of the swelling.

Good luck!

Yes and you can use calamine lotion, but separate her to treat. She'll look funny...

Is it a ground nest? If so after they enter at night you can pour boiling water down it, but dress to protect yourself.
