Yellow residue growing inside rooster's throat.

I need help. Everytime I grabbed my rosterr he had a feces smell. Thought it was from his tail which I decided at that moment to wash with soap and water. Then the following day I noticed the food that I was throwing at him was only getting picked up and immidiatelly dropped off. Picked him up to force feed him and that's when I saw half his throat covered with yellow residue.
What is it? I removed most of it and then every 2 days it grows back again but not as bad as I noticed before.

It might be canker, a protozoan infection spread by pigeons, but wet fowl pox, bacterial, and viral infections can all cause a yellow exudate in the beak and throat. Canker apparrently smells bad. It is treated by metronidazole (FishZole, Flagyl) 250 mg daily for 5 days. Here is a link for fish zole:
