A friend and I both have chickens for eggs. All year long we've been talking about whether or not we should get some meaties. It looks like we are! I figure for the first time, we'll probably get about 20 & share the cost of feeding. Then we'll learn how to process them together.

Most everything I read is Cornish X. Is that the best kind for a beginner?

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
I think they will be the easiest for a beginner. They are the cheapest to raise and need only a small amount of time before they are ready to be slaughtered. I hope it goes well for you!!!
