My mealworms are getting nice and big and juicy looking. How do I harvest them? Sifting them from the wheat bran looks to be a difficult project. Picking them out by hand (ewwww) is going to take forever! Any suggestions?

You can place a piece of folded heavy paper, like a brown paper grocery bag, on top of the substrate (i.e. bran). The larger mealworms that are starting to think about pupating tend to make their way to the surface of the substrate and like to wiggle their way in between the layers of the folded paper. You can then just pick up the piece of paper by the ends, and dump out the harvested worms.
