A group of office workers in Albany NY just hit a $318 million MegaMillions, but that's not the story. It seems while the guy that was delegated to buy the ticket was standing in line he spotted this candy bar he especially liked. When he stepped over to reach for it the guy behind him jumped ahead of him in line. Since both bought Quick Pick's the place in line was kind of important.

So he got cut off by a rude person and ended up getting the winning ticket as a result?? LOVE IT! Now that's Karma for ya!

No!

Doesn't work that way.

Place in line has nothing to do with it. The Quick Pick numbers are generated by a "random number generator" time, position in line, place it was purchased, or fate does not have any control over the number or order of numbers generated.

In reality this guy could have been first in line, last in line, purchased his ticket the day before, one hour later, one customer a head or ten customers later and have no change in the odds of winning. Their is no connection between time, order and quick pick number generated.

How do I know this---- with out going into to much detail. Let's just say up until 1 1/2 years ago I could not legally play the lottery because of an immediate family member being employed in the industry.
