sad day my dad put one of the chicks down because we noticed one of the chicks that got it eyes pecked had its eyes sreded up. I seperated the mean chick from the rest for now. one of the other chicks dit not get its eyes pecck at is not loking to good because one eye is pretty bad and the other one is bad but to that bad.

What size brooder are they in, and how many? Are you useing a red or white light? The red heat lamp seems to stop the pecking...the eyes do not sparkle like they do with a white light. So sorry to hear of your loss.....hope everyone else makes it!

my brooder is 4x2.5 and i am using red light. only the one chicken was pecking.when i seperated them no one was pecking any more.
