I'm from the West of Australia, and figured that rather than spend hours every few days searching the forum, I'd be better off joining! Looking forward to learning more about raising chickens!

I have 7 chickens, no idea what breeds they are, I got them from friends who were moving, and 1 Peking duck (who was supposed to be female but may be male!). I am a complete chicken newbie, and am mostly just making it up as I go!

! Pleased you joined our flock! BYC is a great place to learn. You might post some pics in the following link if you want some help identifying your birds. (I think you have to have at least 10 posts before you can post pics). Good luck to you!

Nice to meet you! You did better than me. I started with the thought of getting three or four chicks, but when I saw them I came home with twelve!!! At least you were able to take a few at first. I am scared to think how many I might have in the future. : )

We had friends who were moving, and I got all of their chickens! If they had more we would have taken them! I want to get more younger ones, but I have a sick chicken (I posted about it) and its made me realise how little I know and how unprepared I was!
