Yikes! Is my she a he?

It seems so much easier to guess somebody else's gender than my own chicks. I would have guessed at a male, but glad my guess isn't the only advice lol. Definitely very pretty though.

Yes, definitely a cockerel. I never knew Petco sold chicks. If Tractor Supply is the one who gives them chicks, they are bound to have massive amounts of mixed up genders and breeds, and poor-quality birds. That is just how Tractor Supply is. Vent-sexing is not always accurate, I have heard about 70% accuracy for Hoover's Hatchery (the main hatchery that gives chicks to Tractor Supply).

Isn't nine weeks a little early for a crow? My five cockerels are coming up to 12 weeks and some of them are just starting to try out the crowing thing. Lol, they are not very good at it!

No, not too early. Almost all of my cockerels have started crowing at six weeks and that is the average. The earliest for crowing I have had is at around three weeks.

They claim a 90% accuracy.
I mean, I buy them in hopes they are accurate, but never hold them to it if not.
I will definitely keep this cutie (unless he is a complete jerk) .

If he is a male crowing wont start till after it's more prominently looking male. Long high up tail feathers, larger stature, etc. I had a supposed hen we thought might have just been the " Alpha " female of our hens but later we found out that our she was a he. You wont know for sure till they are older unless you sex them yourself with the lower belly trick but even that's better done at a older age.
ANCONA chick 9 weeks old.
This little one was bought from Petco in June. It was one of just a few left. They were supposed to be pullets. I am thinking the sexer made a mistake!
No crowing that i have heard.
He is pretty cute, but likes to push the other 3 out of the way when I am hand feeding treats!
