Yikes!

I have 18 call duck eggs in the bator on day 9 shipped from a seller on e-bay. I took a peek last night and 16 of them are developing right on target with little blobs bouncing around. I'm sure there will be more quitters before hatch but I never expected that out of shipped eggs. I was hoping to get a trio out of this so I guess DH better get moving on building me a bigger duck house and pond

Anyone else hatching in early/mid April?

I have two scovy hatches set to for the 5th (8 eggs) and the 17th (2 or 3 eggs).

I am expecting 4 appleyard ducklings from a guy who is hatching them out the first week in April. So I don't get to candle them but am nervous just the same!

I've got seven Ancona eggs in my bator, candled them and all are alive. I also have some guinea eggs I got shipped, it's a little early to tell with those, am candling them tomorrow night....

I just candled some Pekin eggs last night... 6 out of the 7 have developed.. Mine are due around the 20th of April.. Last ducklings fro a while for me.It starting to get colder here.

I have some of my own butterscotch call duck eggs I'm trying to hatch! I'm on day nine, too. I had them in the incubator for a while and was hand turning them, but one of my hens (chicken hen, not duck hen) decided to go totally broody on me, so I have her in charge of them now. Due date is between April 10-12! I'm planning on candling them tonight and seeing how things are going! Fertility ought to be pretty good, as I only have a pair and they're quite "amorous" so now I just have to hope that development has gone well.

I am getting excited, the last batch of chicks I hatched is laying already so I'm ready for some babies

I'm already planning what to put in after this batch is out

I have a hatch due nearly every week in April.

- 4 mutt ducks from my own flock are due 3/30
- 8 Bantam Cochin chicks due 4/6
- 4 Welsh Harlequin ducks due 4/18
- (?) Bantam Cochin chicks due 4/20 (I've purchased these eggs, but they won't ship until this Saturday)
- 6-7 Indian Runner ducks going into the 'bator 4/1, due 4/29

AND I'm expecting a shipment of ducklings from Holderreads the week of 4/12.

Congrats on the Call duckies though! I just got my first Call duck (a little white drake) at a swap last weekend. He's adorable!
