:hehe they are soo spoiled every last one of them is fat and lazy and happy lol and ive only got one that lays eggs and her eggs are so tiny you have to save up 6 of them for scrambled eggs for one person (shes an oegb) but i love them so it doesnt really matter to me lol

Well I tried again, this time I did as suggested and made a desert out of the stuff. I don't much blame them, I don't like yogurt either. I went to the grocery store, bought them their favorite, a watermelon, and made them a dessert. They had a field day. By the time they got through slinging that mess everywhere, I had to come in and take a shower. Thanks for the idea!!!

I will try it with the chicks later.

I first tried the all natural plain yogurt route when they were babies in the brooder and they wouldn't touch it. then a few weeks later, i tried giving them some of what i was eating, which was just regular strawberry yogurt with some granola. they loved it! I haven't tried plain yogurt again, but they have now had strawberry, blueberry, vanilla, and this week they got strawberry banana. I'm not too concerned with the sugar or fat content because they get so little of it, but whatever you buy, make sure it's regular and not "light" or a diet version- these contain artifical sweeteners (look for ingredients like sugar or high fructose corn syrup- this is the un-diet and chicken friendly version). Also look for a warning containing phenylalanine, this is an artificial sweetener similar to the aspertame in diet soda.
