yolk color

Some of my egg yolks are looking more red than orange. My chickens are mutts so I can't give you a breed. I have never had this happen before. Does anyone have any ideas? Or are they so orange they just look red?

Welcome! Since they free range I imagine it has to do with diet. My yolks vary a little depending on what is growing.

Yeah they are free range, I am in the desert where we are having alot of wild flowers blooming. I also go a really course bag of scratch the last couple of times that have some really hard seeds. I think I will stick the lay crumble for awhile and see if that helps. Thanks for the answer, I didn't know if the eggs were still good or not.
