This morning I awoke to a nice bright sunny spring day decided to wear my new dress and sandles to work. Got all ready looking pretty good (if I do say so myself) when out to take care of the animals before heading off to work. Went to change duck water and splashed scummy old nasty duck water all over said new sandles and dress.

Went it changed into my old clothes went to work. The joys of the "simple" life.

The other day I was proudly heading out in my new flip flops with my freshly self-pedicured feet, when I just had to check the chickens and baby chicks water one last time before leaving for the day. I promptly stepped in poop that somehow managed to get under my foot and on the interior of my flip flop. Needless to say, I ended up leaving the house with running shoes on.

It's hard being fabulous and owning chickens.

it is hard but someone has to do it LOL!!!!

Believe me I have dragged some feather filled poopy shavings stuck to bottom of shoe messes into the office. I have also found eggs in my coat pocket while at the office. We are not allowed to wear pants to work so I have done some pretty "clever" things in skirts thats for sure.

ETA: noticed you were from ontario as well, wonder if its a geographical thing???

This is why you never ever go out in good clothes, it's Murpheys law whatever can, will happen.

This is why I wear my old clothes out to do my morning chores come back into the house and change for work this way if anything happens I can change and be gone all in the smae amount of time.

This winter, I bent over and squished an egg that was in my coat pocket. I had totally forgot it was there. Woops!!

In our part of the world, the start of flip flop season is very serious business. We have survived another 6 months of cold and must celebrate with barely there shoes.

Next time let's make our S.O's/anyone else check the chickens before we go out! It's fine if they get poop on them, I don't mind.

I know!! any weather that promotes open shoes needs to be celebrated in this part of the world anyhow!!!

I obviously wouldnt have it any other way. Ducks are way messier then chickens I must say
