You can never be to safe

We had the same experience back in january. Theres a thread on here with pics. It was only a small hatching house, but still contained LOTS of stuff in it like all my incubators and hatchers and some birds. My thoughts go out to you, I remember the feeling.

oh Nathan i am terribly sorry! what a horrible horrible thing to happen!!!!!

Well ive been busy thats for sure the CSI guy i call him says that the fire was so bad that it was hard to figure out forsure what started it.
Was either the incubator or the brooder all he could tell me.
Good thing is I had ins. not sure what all i covers but we will be working on it.
I hope i can bring myself to take few pics before im able to start cleaning up everthing its bad.

Jeez.. I feel really bad for you.
Thanks for warning everyone, too. It's nice of you to think of others at a time like this.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost them that way, but my husband is a firefighter, and i can tell you that it's very likely that your animals didn't suffer much. More often than not, they pass from smoke inhalation before the fire touches them- I hope this gives you a little comfort. Also, I would keep in touch with the fire investigators- because I will tell you, I was out and about last night(we live in the country-and illegal for fireworks), and saw a nearby house having AIRBORNE fireworks shooting up. It only take ONE spark to light a fire- and the investigators should be able to eventually give you an idea of what started the fire based on their evidence collection.

No matter what the outcome, you still lost your birds- but know that our prayers and thoughts are with you!

I am so sorry for your loss. I could get you RIR/Leghorn chicks in the spring. I am sure we could get them to you somehow. I have some now if anyone was going that way. Good luck with your son I will say a prayer for ya all.

i am so sorry, thats horrible, and sorry to hear about your custody problems, my parents had one over me and my brother and sister a couple years back, it really sucks. you say one of your chicken barns, did you have more?

at this point a good thing to do is alert people of the danger of eletrical and heatlamp related fires, and maybe we can find a good way to prevent this from happening to others,

once again, sorry
