I talked to my mom and while this is a "casual" party my sister is wearing a dress. My mom does not "do" dresses much anymore and is wearing a pantsuit. I was going to wear dressy capris and found some dressy sandals. It makes no sense for me to buy something I will never wear again. I told my mom if I could find slacks to wear I would instead of capris, I know me wearing capris will just start a tiff. My Mom, who usually would say I was being silly, actually did not really say anything, I think she is finally seeing things the way they are.

Funny thing is, my sister has admitted that she thinks they love me more than they do her, what would bring her to this conclusion, you are gonna crack up.......... when I got my Driver License, they had a car they were not using and I got it. She had to buy her first car (parents gave her 1/2 the money)

It sounds like she's going to find fault with you no matter what. Let her behave how she wants. The only thing you can control is you and your actions. You will come out looking better if you behave yourself, which from what I gather, you will.

Positive thoughts can make a big difference in a person. Just a little tip, if you start to think of something negatively, force yourself to turn that thought into a positive one. Fake a smile if you have to, it will turn into the real thing in no time.

I'm not even going to state the issues I've had with my sister. A very nasty individual she is!

I agree. SOme people lift themselves by bringing down others. SO don't let her know it bothers.
