You guys are a bad influence ;-)

I know what you all mean. Tax time came along and I bought 200.00 in eggs to hatch. So far I"ve gotten 15 chicks out of 90 eggs. With broken eggs and a box getting lost for 2 weeks, lost all those eggs and of course I can't get replacements on that one. The rough handling and x-ray I now have 1 silkie, 1 blue orphington and 13 sizzles that cost a little over $13.00 each. Yep, you heard it here first folks. Ya'all think i'm addicted? I do.

Guess what I did before I checked the forum? I looked at the auctions. lol Nope, I didn't buy anything. I"m proud of me, are you. I'm lucky DH doesn't give me a hard time. He just scratches his head and goes out to see what he has to make another pen out of. He actually suggested I try buying what I want at the auction instead of having them shipped. I can hatch out my own chickens eggs but I already have some of them. I want different ones. Where better to find different ones than here.

Lucky for me...I am in a different country and cant go down to the fee store or TSC to get them... But just seeing all the pictures and posts about hatchlings is enough to keep my refilling the incubator - when I already have over my limit of adult birds.

LOL! Yeah, and I'm delighted to be part of the chicken clan!

Wish I could convert my wife, but yesterday she did inform me about different folks who are planning to come over to watch chicks hatch.... I DIDN'T tell them!!!!

What has cured me of buying every chick I see is I narrowed it down to one breed of chickens and one breed of ducks...
Since Sussex come in limited colors this means I get to improve the breed and so I can only now hatch my own eggs.(I ordered some Sussex back in febuary and will get em in june).
