I have a bantam that hatched a few a week ago, another bantam that went broody the same week and another bantam that went broody 2 days ago and now it's looking like one of my buff orpington hens is getting in the mood.
My 3 seramas have been debating it for months and finally 2 of them started sitting tight. Then there's a guinea hen from the other coop that I bet is sitting on an outdoor nest.
I have one broody Buff Orpington right now. I have no idea how many eggs she has piled up under her--she growls at me if I try to look.
I waited & waited for one of them to go broody, when none did, I built an incubator and hatched 3 chicks, then set 10 more eggs in there. Ya gotta know a week into the second incubation that hen glued her butt to a pile of eggs.
