Its true. I live in a very agricultural area, and there is actually a lot of honey raised here.

But I am hand pollinating my squash. I have seen about three bees outside all year.

I have gotten two zucchinis all year, and they started blooming the first part of may.

We've had plenty of bees here. Earlier this summer we had a tree in our front yard swarming with them

If you walked up to it, you could here the hum of their wings.

We have very few, but we don't have very many plants that attract them. Next spring we will try to pl;ant some stuff that will attract them when they are flying over.

Wow, really no bees where you are? My lavender plants alone are cover with bees each day. I can't tell the differance between all the different bee species, but they are small and fuzzy looking bees.

In my area we have gone up and down with the bee population. For a while we didn't see many, but now they seem to be on the way back.
I still remember the tree in the front yard that had so many bees you could hear them if you stood still. We caught them in jars and listened to the amplified sound. Then they were released. I was stung countless times, most often though running barefoot in the yard and stepping on a dead or dying one.
Now the students in my classes are all afraid of them and getting "stung". Understandable for a someone who has a known allergy, but for anyone else - apply baking soda paste and move on.
Not only that, I cannot remember seeing a kid with a "stubbed toe" - what is up with that. Was I just that clumsy?

i had to make 3 honey bee hives leave again out of my walls...so no proublems around here.....

we have been having huge swarms of honey bees all over the place here o.o
