At the same time.
And the youngest is just cute enough to know he's being naughty. He'll cock you a grin and try to get you to let him out early.

Then he turns into a screaming banshee and earns another time out.

Ain't parenthood great!

The worst thing about a time-out can be if you realize AFTER you put them in their room that there's no lock on the door.

So glad I'm past that. Although it was actually a lot easier when they were 4 than it is when they're 20...

Yes. It is. I've kept mine under control lately by reminding him that Santa won't come if your being bad. Yes it's early but getting closer and I use it to my advantage.

We were at the store last night, and a guy pushing a cart while on a wheelchair was next to us. I told the kids "go stand by the wall" when a look over a minute later, they're all lined up staring at the wall silent.....

"no guys, you're not in trouble I just needed room to push the cart"

The box boys thought it was funny as heck.

I never got time out ~ I got an ole fashioned butt woopin'. Of course that was a long time ago, it worked.

I have 9 nieces and nephews *some grown and married now* and a 25 yr old step-daughter ~ never saw time out work nor did 1 ....... 2.........3......, I mean it now 1........2.......3......

Good luck!

can't spell ~

YOu need the elf on a shelf to remind them yearround! LOL!

Time outs are tough-if they are old enough, I give tasks to complete, preferably related ones. (you push your brother into a puddle, you get to do the next load of laundry) that sort of thing.

If they have been fighting with each other, making them hug or hold hands usually unites them (against you)
