You Know your Addicted When???? (Game)

You KNOW you're addicted when....

-the computer gets messed up and you can't get on for over a week and during that time, with no BYC, you're so bored and lonely and as soon as it's fixed, you go straight to BYC

-you want hatching eggs for your b-day or Christmas

-you try to convince your dad to build a bigger, better coop in the garage so the chickens will like it more and it will leave more room for more chickens

-when a batch of eggs is in the incubator and you have dreams about them hatching

-when you have a batch of eggs in the incubator and you're already thinking of names for them and fixing the brooder box so they are comfortable when they hatch (which, for me, is usually still a week or so away!)

-when you talk to your chickens in a baby voice, buy them Christmas presents, bring the chicks out of their box so they can sit on the couch and watch TV with you, and when you give your chickens kisses!

-when you call your young chicks who are almost old enough to move out into the coop "your little babies who are getting so big!" in a baby voice LOL!

-when you take pictures of your chickens and set them as your background on your cell phone

-when you have as many posts as I do

-when you look in your history on the computer and it's filled with "www.backyardchickens.com".


These are most of the things that I do! LOL

ohh and especially whenever I see a thermostat, thermometer, wooden box, mini refrigerator, lamp kit, etc. you think "INCUBATOR!!!!"

When you re-park your car with the high beams on pointed toward the barn so the poor wittle turkey babies can see to fly high up into the rafters even though it's night time. (I did this tonight). Poor wittle turkeys.

When.......you are sitting outside under a shade tree cracking pecans for the chickens

Boy do they love them.

When January is agony because you have to wait for the hatcheries to open so you can order.... that's me right now

Sigh, you know your addicted when you 1. surf the "Raising baby Chicks" section, just to look at fuzz butts that you know you can't have until spring

2. are outside in 15 degree weather kneeling IN THE SNOW so you can get a nice photo of your favorite roo.

3. When considering a new coop you decide to make it 2x larger than need be just in case you happen to stumble upon some more chooks

You know your are addicted when there is an incubator in the spare room, a hatcher and a brooder in your bedroom, an injured duckiling in the loungeroom and 15 more ducks waddling around the back yard.......

When you upgrade your internet connection just for faster loading of all the pics....

When you have turned the incubator back on AGAIN after your very last hatch- just for a few more eggs....

You only have friends that keep poultry- as you lost contact over the years with those that dont

- you let perfectly good food go bad to have an excuse to feed it to your "chicky babies"

- talk to your chickens in a high pitch baby voice

- SWEAR your chickens can talk to you
