I got my VERY VERY FIRST egg from my babies that I rasied from chicks. I have 3 laying hens, but didn't raise them up, so it just isn't as exciting as my first official egg from one of my ladies. It was so perfect and little.

Congratulations!

Are you going to eat it or carry it around and show it off? Not that I know anyone that did that or anything...*cough*

Awesome! It's so exciting getting their first eggs, isn't it? We raised all our hens from chicks as well, makes them more used to you.

At first, the eggs were roughly the size of a robin egg. They slowly increased with size though, we found that letting them out to the main part of the garden to eat grass produced bigger eggs.

I didn't carry our first eggs around, but they are now sitting in my egg basket as decorative eggs while I collect fresh eggs everyday!

Oh I don't know anyone that ever did that either *cough*

Problem was, no one else cared LOL> Oh they humored me with "thats nice" but just didn't understand. I'm so misunderstood.

Very pretty! Did you remove their yolks or leave them fully intact?

The contents have been blown out and the eggs decorated Pysanky style, with a layer of spar urethane to seal, so they will last forever ( unless we break them accidentally).
